City of Bath Rhythmic Gymnastics club held their annual Rainbow Competition, an opportunity for every member of the club of any age and level to compete as a team.
It is a fun and friendly event, with an aim of including all of the club’s gymnasts from badge class to elite to gain experience, to learn and to support each other.
The gymnasts were spilt in to three teams, Red, Pink and Blue. Each Team Captain tasked with promoting the club’s ethos of inclusivity, perseverance and good sportsmanship throughout the day especially with the younger members.
All gymnasts preformed a combination of individual, group and team routines using the ball, hoop, rope and clubs. Resulting in Pink winning the Bronze, Red took both the Silver and the Most Supportive Team award. The gold medals went to the Blue team.
Other individual awards on the day were for April Gymnast of the Month won by Patricia. Most Colourful Gymnast awarded to Olive, Gymnast Smile won by Eliza. Diana took the Gymnast Future Star trophy.
The most highly regarded Performance of the Day was won by Kashvi with Hannah and Ellie winning Rainbow Gymnast of the Day.
Sarah Moon Club Chairwoman said “It’s so wonderful to see the children aged from 5 to 20, from badge class to British Champions all together working as a team. You can literally see them growing in confidence and skills in front of your eyes.”
